The College Fund - How Much to Save Spreadsheet Course
determine how much to save now so you can pay for college when the time comes
The College Fund - How Much to Save spreadsheet course guides you through the steps needed to 1) project college costs and 2) determine yearly contributions to a college fund in order to cover these costs. The course also deals with planning that may affect cash flow associated with college expenses. These elements may include educational tax credits, the benefit of earning college credits in high school, and more.
The course includes: general instructions, a downloadable Excel spreadsheet, a checklist, and video instructions. The spreadsheet in the course assumes that your child will graduate from college in four years or less.
The spreadsheet is designed to help you plan for one child at a time. You can plan for more than one child by creating files named for each child in the year that you complete the spreadsheet (e.g., College Fund - Sam 2021; or College Fund - Lindsey 2020).
Contributing to 529 Plan accounts and withdrawing funds from such an
account are mentioned in this course. However, specific plans and their
investment choices are not covered in this course.
